2002 – 2012 Julicher Celebratesa Decade of Wine!
Ten years ago we created our first label and bottled the 2002 wine.
That first vintage won a silver medal and the awards have kept on coming! To our knowledge no other winery has won two Champion Wine of the Show awards in New Zealand in their first decade. And of course we have also consistently won other medals and awards in this time.
So we head into our second decade with the same passion and dedication that we had in 2002, still focussing very much on making only the finest quality wines. The Te Muna terroir and hard work of all the Julicher team, plus the exceptional flair of our Finnish winemaker, Outi Jakovirta, are making this achievable.

Sustainability
Julicher Estate is an accredited Sustainable Winegrowing vineyard, verifying our commitment to environmentally responsible wine production.
Wherever possible, the vineyard uses organic practices, working with naturally derived resources. Organic based fertilisers made from fish, seaweed or compost, rather than synthetic chemicals are used, and pest and disease sprays are drawn from natural ingredients.
After pruning, the canes are mulched and left to compost, providing valuable nutrients to the soil.

Our story begins in the Te Muna Valley, a premium grape growing location in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand.
Nestled just outside Martinborough, in the stoney riverbed soils of the Te Muna Valley all of our grapes are grown on our own family estate and carefully harvested by our family and local friends.
And our story has only just begun!
